Did you know that as we get older, we lack proteins vitamins and essential minerals that affect the ability to get rid of toxins?
In fact, we live in polluted environments that affect the food we eat and the air we breathe in. You’ll be surprised to know that drinking fermented tea prevents tissues from absorbing toxins.
In fact, it detoxes the body from chemicals that we deal with on a daily bases.
Kombucha contains antioxidants such as D-saccharin acid-1, 4-lactone, which is only found in fermented foods.
These Antioxidants boost your immune system. And helps to fight free radicals in the body. Why?
Because Antioxidants that are in kombucha are 100 times more powerful than vitamin C. And 25 times more powerful than vitamin E.
In other words,It helps us to fight The toxic chemical found in pesticides, lifestyle choices. And air pollution that creates free radicals in the body.
Free radicals overwhelm the body’s antioxidant defense. And creates stress in the body Resulting in metabolic diseases such as:
- Skin disorders (dermatitis, psoriasis, aging)
- Eye disorders (retinal degeneration, cataract)
- Lungs (allergies and asthma)
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Brain diseases
A way to prevent oxidative stress in the body is by using antioxidant-rich products daily.
However, it is rich in phenolic compounds, vitamins E, C, beta-carotene, and other carotenoids.
In the 2014 study by the JOURNAL OF MEDICINAL FOOD confirms that kombucha tea has more potent antioxidant properties than unfermented black tea.
Due to the high levels of antioxidant properties, the study believes it could help cure many chronic illnesses caused by oxidative stress.
Scientific evidence shows that Kombucha tea can promote energy in the body.
This is because of the formation of Iron. And gluconic acid increases the level of hemoglobin.
What does this mean?
This means that kombucha tea can improve tissues in the body by supplying oxygen.
Drinking kombucha has been proven to improve the immune system.
This is because it has vitamin C within it. And is strong enough to support the immune system.
As a matter of fact, it protects the body from cell damage and diseases. The 2014 study also found that drinking kombucha tea can help the body with:
If you suffer from Gastric illnesses fermented tea can be effective in healing ulcers.
In addition to that, the active probiotics within Kombucha can give your gut healthy bacteria. Therefore, improving digestion.
A recent study found that kombucha limits fat accumulation. And balances metabolism.
What does this mean for you?
This means that it can help to eliminate belly fat.More research is needed to confirm this. But we do know that it is high in acetic acid and polyphenols.
However, there have been other studies that show that they create weight loss.
Researchers found that fermented tea reduces blood pressure. And prolongs lifespan.
This is because it contains antioxidants in high amounts. And can help to prevent heart problem such as:
- heart attack,
- cholesterol problems

Thus, increasing the body resistance to cancer.
A scientific study also found that it decreases cancer cells in prostate cancer. For this reason, it could be useful for prostate cancer prevention and treatment.
What To Avoid At All Costs
When it comes down to choosing Kombucha tea, it’s important to pay attention to a few things.
The Bottle Kombucha Is Stored In
Every once in a while you will come across kombucha tea that is stored in a plastic bottle. That’s a huge health issue. Why?
Because the acidity from kombucha breaks down the plastic bottle. This is Because it is slightly acidic. And the plastic ends up in the tea which you end up consuming.
If you are wanting to drink kombucha for the health benefits this defeats the purpose.
Not to mention the plastic bottles are bad for the environment.Furthermore, it is recommended to avoid plastic storage bottles.
To always look for kombucha stored in Amber glass bottles.
Glass bottles will ensure that there will be no harmful toxins in your drink, unlike plastic.
In addition, the amber glass will protect the kombucha tea from UV light. The natural sunlight breaks down the probiotics.
Furthermore, the amber glass guarantees you to get the most benefits out of the tea.
Look At The Ingredient Label
Avoid kombucha that says crafted with a base of green or black tea. And some brands use ingredient such as:
- Tea flavors
- Synthetic flavors
- Extra yeasts
- And dyes.
These added ingredients add no benefits to you.And are not true kombucha teas.
Only the finest brands use organic whole foods to make kombucha tea. And use pure or cold-pressed veggies and fruits.
Look for phrases like “naturally fermented” or look for the USDA seal. This will ensure that you are getting authentic organic kombucha.
Sugar is an important ingredient in the fermentation process to make kombucha.
However, there is very little left in the final product. This is because the SCOBY feeds off the sugar during the fermentation process.
Being that it’s always good to look at the ingredient label. And try to aim for <5g super per 100ml.
Because it is long in sugar it is wonderful for weight loss along with the health benefits it has.On the other hand, some companies add processed sweeteners like stevia or erythritol to kombucha tea.
This creates fewer benefits that you receive from the probiotics. In fact, fake sweeteners compromise the fermentation process. If you find added sugar on the label you should pass on that brand.
Real kombucha needs to be refrigerated. This is because it is has living probiotics. And it is not shelf-stable.
Thus, if you see one that does not come refrigerated then it is an impostor (fake).
